Weddings

Mark is a 'real' award winning wedding photographer - and takes pride in the fact that his skill's, equipment and expertise are state of the art & first class.

These day's anyone buying a digital SLR camera from Hervey Norman can profess to be 'The Premier' local wedding photographer...The number of bridal 'studio and location re-shoots' I do seems to be growing each year - with sad Brides that thought the slightly cheaper cost of the 'Hervey Norman supplied professional photog' would save them money - instead they got out of focus, grainy under exposed images from a self professed 'Pro photog' that charged them 10 times what his/her camera gear was worth...

Beware brides! - after the day is long gone, all you will have to remember it by are the images that were taken...
Solution is simple? - When you chat with your potential wedding photographer, ASK what camera gear the photographer will use at your wedding, and write it down. Also ask do they have backup gear?

Take a minute to Google the camera model followed by 'best price' - if its real 'PRO gear' it will be worth thousands, - If its only worth 'hundreds' and he/she is charging you thousands then run screaming !! ...
Each of my PRO cameras cost around $6000.00. Before I even pop a lens on them.
If you seriously want professional quality, then take 2 minutes to Google and determine for yourself if he/she is a serious PRO - or just a GWC (guy/girl with camera - trying to make a fast buck...)

It's unfortunate that I feel the need to inform you all - but this stuff is happening way too often to ignore.
If you want the best, hire a pro! - and there are many fantastic photog's out there!
But there are also many more pretend 'Pros' - ones only wanting your money that have no idea on off camera lighting or how to use photoshop - so you really need to be aware and to do some research before you commit to a photographer.

Questions to ask when your enquiring:-
# What Camera and model number do you use?
# Do you have back up gear in case of a failure?
# If so, what Camera is this, and what model number?
# Do you use 'off camera lighting?' (A pro will always use this technique - an amature wont.)
# Are you an expert in photoshop? can I see some 'Before and after' images of brides youve shot?
# Can I see an 'entire wedding' youve shot - not just your 10 best pictures... (Any real 'PRO' would be proud to show you!!!!)an amature will do anything they can to duck and weave with this request!
I hope this info simply enlightens Brides & Grooms to make a smarter choice in who they choose ... and not to believe any 'BS' a GWC may spin them. Ive just seen way to many brides coming to me that were heartbroken in the photography they paid for.

I only hope to save any heartbreak by helping couples make a more informed decision regarding their choise on photograper.
Regard's - Mark Hamilton
