Weather

Over the years Ive lived in several of our country's state's & also spent 12 years in the Northern Territory.

Being a helicopter pilot is akin to being a gypsy, your always on the move & towing your wagon & trailer to a new town.

Weather watching, wherever I am, has always been a serious passion.

Any unusual weather, - particularly lightning has always facinated me.

Watching fierce electrical storms while sipping a beer under a verandah is a way of life in The Top End - Particularly in Darwin.
(and more popular by far than TV!)

While others are watching, I grab my camera gear and head out.

The bureau of met's "BOM" weather radar site is great for working out where to go when a storm approaches.

www.bom.gov.au/weather/radar/

Just remember, - take care, - lightning will kill - Ive had some close calls over the years. :)
