Nightcliff light Show

Wow! - lightning strikes the Timor sea offshore from Nightcliff jetty.
Mother nature really put on a great show this particular night.
- Lightning can be a frustrating (and dangerous) thing to capture. Issues to contend with include:
Camera on tripod pointed in the wrong direction; or "drizzling rain" threatening to destroy your camera or smear your lens. (a shower cap is a handy addition to your camera bag!)
Or an f-stop too open and not "stopped down" as the lightning intensity increases -turning what could have been a great capture into a blown out #$#!!.
But I love storm chasing - it can be very rewarding!
